This tune is as a "what if?" story about a good friend of Monica's who was going through a hard divorce, circa the news of the 50 missing women from Vancouver's Downtown east side. She thought of a story of her friend leaving town and not telling anyone. Her story has a happy ending; but for many women, this is not the case. This song was later used in the CBC documentary "A Safer Sex Trade" about Vancouver's Sex industry over powerful footage of the 2004 missing women's march. Other songs off the Seasons Greetings EP are also featured in the documentary. Lee scored the remainder of the film with original compositions. The Doc aired many times on CBC TV between 2006-2009
lyrics
Judy Lea
Judy Lea, Judy Lea
Are you out there, are you out there
Won’t you call me, won’t you call me
Judy Lea, Judy Lea
Judy Lea, Judy Lea,
Oh I miss you, Oh I miss you
Won’t you come when I call you
Won’t you come, Judy Lea
I’ve been writing you songs, love songs
The pain of separation and the life lived long
You’ve been doin’ time
towin’ the family line
Judy Lea, Judy Lea,
Are you out there, are you out there
Won’t you call me, if you do care
Won’t you call me, Judy Lea
Solo
Last seen leaving town bordering a train at Terminal and Main
She was carrying her backpack, her guitar case, she was wearing blue jeans
He never loved her anyway, and the children are all grown
She’s runnin’ away, she’s takin’ a chance, she’s gonna make it on her own
Judy Lea, Judy Lea,
Are you out there, are you out there
Won’t you call me, if you do care
Won’t you call me, Judy Lea
