Blu Boy 04:45
Blu Boy I woke up early this morning dreaming of you Of you I spent the weekend adoring oh yeah and the music was good too this is the story of the girl who is lost not knowing who to turn to and most of all who to trust He played a mean pedal He played it the whole song through He played his part so well a perfect match a perfect fit and we all got along too this is the story about the boy who is lost it’s hard to know what to do when you’re in love with two women and one of them is the cost One note after the other in progression nice and slow He had what I wanted and I wanted a lot don’t you know I’ll play it like a hero I’ll play it like no sleep and rust I’ll play it on piano and this ship is doomed for boom or bust I woke up early again this morning with this song running through my head What one man can do on the microphone but tonight I’m sleeping alone in this lonely double bed I’ll play it like a hero I’ll play it like no sleep and rust I’ll play it on piano and this ship is doomed for boom or bust ©Monica Lee 2002

Love Song 03:29
Love Song I will write you a love song I will take my time comin’ up with the perfect rhythm the perfect rhyme and when I’m through and when I’m through everyone will sing along with you I will hold you in a daydream I will take my time comin’ up with the circumstances a setting, and all the lines and when I’m through and when I’m through I will wake up looking at you A mirror you are a grimace and a hidden scar I gave you my word and I gave you a ride in my car and now all I can do is sing love songs to you I will cook you the perfect breakfast I will take my time choose the perfect ingredients the final mix, nothing less than sublime and when I’m through and when I’m through I will make love to you ©Monica Lee 2004

about

Recorded and produce by Steven Drake this 6 song EP captured some of Lee's live set at the Railway Club, one song intimately recorded on Drake's house piano and two others on a beautiful grand piano in studio at Vancouver Community College where Lee was studying at the time. It features at haunting performance of her song Blu Boy with C.R. Avery on Harmonica and Mike Liston on Upright Bass.
